23 December 2009 - "The new Furfural plant has been commissioned, we produced our first product during November. Full production phase mid 2010" (John Power, CEO).
Proserpine Sugar Mill uses the SupraYield® process to produce furfural from the bagasse that is left over from process of sugar cane production. It is the first plant in the world to use the SupraYield® process, which is owned by Proserpine Sugar Mill and patented in many countries around the world. - A second plant is under construction (commissioning start scheduled for end Jan 2010).
