Lui Raiteri said “this is an exciting next step for our value adding program. The signing of this agreement with Arcoy Biorefinery will see them constructing a new 11,000 tonne furfural plant in India using the SupraYield® process. The agreement, worth millions of dollars to the Cooperative, is expected to be the first of many with significant interest being shown by a number of other manufacturers.”
Aditya Choksi said “as part of their diversification plan Arcoy Biorefinery is setting up a first of its kind plant in India manufacturing furfural using Proserpine Sugar Mill’s SupraYield® technology. As per the schedule, the target is to commission the Biorefinery development by August 2009. Furfural and furfural alcohol are an important part of our operations. Arcoy Biorefinery is part of the Arcoy Group established in 1930 with diverse business interests ranging from manufacturing and taking turnkey contracts for all kinds of anti corrosive materials. Arcoy operates in more than twelve countries across the globe, these operations include financing, consumer products, water purification systems (reverse osmosis) and industrial paints and coatings.
We are looking forward to a close working relationship with Proserpine Mill.”
Chris Connors, General Manager of Proserpine Mill said “special thanks need to go to Philipp Steiner and his team at DalinYebo who have worked tirelessly at delivering the agreement. We have spent a few late nights on ensuring this outcome. Proserpine Sugar has an excellent working relationship with DalinYebo who are our marketing agents for the furfural technology. There is strong expectation from within DalinYebo that this will be the first of many licensing agreements with a number of customers on the verge of also committing to the process.”
